Museum Archive Cold Vault, National Park Service — Springfield, Massachusetts
Thermmax designed and completely installed an environmental room that maintained the storage space precisely at 35°F ±1°F with relative humidity at less than 40%. This room is used for the critical storage of 19th century photographs. Controls were accomplished using state of the art touch screen-PLC technology. All mechanical conditioning equipment is 100% redundant for the safe keeping of priceless artifacts. Temperature and humidity is remotely monitored and alarmed at the curator’s computer station.
Clinical Test Sample Storage — Allentown, Pennsylvania
Thermmax provided four large warehouse cold rooms and freezers for a local life science service provider. Rooms are used for validated cold storage of clinical test drug samples. These samples are used for FDA drug studies to approve new pharmaceutical medications. Cold rooms are precisely controlled at 4°C; freezers at -20°C. Systems are 100% redundant.
Life Science Laboratory Rooms: University of Pennsylvania Medical School — Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Thermmax designed and installed 24 environmental rooms at the University of Pennsylvania, to be used for life science research, human sleep studies, and genetic research. Newer rooms are provided with touch screen-PLC controls and paperless recorders for data acquisition.
Robotic Archive Specimen Storage, Biotechnology Research — Princeton, New Jersey
Hundreds of biological samples are stored in a three dimensional library archive located inside a low humidity (<40% RH) cold room and freezer (-20°C). Samples are automatically accessed by a computer controlled robotic picker.
